Two homes of the same size can be two entirely different cleaning jobs. A flat with emptied cupboards and lifted rugs is not comparable to one still lived in, with a full counter and closed wardrobes. The difference is not simply “furniture or no furniture”; it changes how much surface is reachable, how much moving is required, and in what order the work should run. Empty or furnished: where the workload shifts
In an empty flat, surfaces are open: cupboard interiors, floor corners, skirting boards and window recesses can be worked on directly. Window scope: both faces, rails and frames are separate items
Windows are often thought of as one visible surface. In practice, scope is set by three items: the inner face, the outer face, and the frame. The outer face can be worked on only where the sash opens safely and there is secure access from inside; fixed panes, high windows without a guard, or facades requiring outside access may fall outside scope.
Rails and frames are a separate labour item. Dust and sand collected in the lower rail of sliding joinery turns to mud if wetted before being removed mechanically, making the job harder. Whether insect screens can be detached should also be agreed in advance. If glass shows what looks like scratching or dullness, whether it is surface residue, coating behaviour or a permanent mark requires an on-site expert assessment. Planning the order in a multi-storey home
In a two- or three-storey home, order follows the direction dust travels. The common logic is top to bottom: upper-floor rooms and windows first, stair treads worked downward, ground floor and wet areas last. A cleaned floor is then not re-soiled by dust coming down.
Stairs are the busiest route in a multi-storey home; left wet, they restrict movement. So it is worth agreeing when stairs will be out of use and which floor provides water and power access. Depending on how the house is used, the floor-room-stair-window order may change; villa cleaning does not include pool maintenance.

Can empty-flat scope apply while furniture is still there?
No. Full cupboard interiors and complete floor coverage are possible only once the space is cleared. If items remain, scope is limited to reachable surfaces.
