Two different jobs hide inside one kitchen request: wiping cabinet door fronts and emptying and cleaning the shelves inside. They need different preparation and different amounts of time. Inside the cabinets or only the fronts?
Exterior work covers doors, handles, visible panels and the countertop, and it can be done while the kitchen is still in use. Interior work is separate: plates, jars, dry goods and small appliances come out, shelves are wiped, and nothing goes back until the surface is dry. The practical question is who empties the shelves. If you sort out breakables, opened food and medicines yourself and gather them on a counter or in a box, the team deals only with surfaces and the risk of things being misplaced drops.

Where does the common area end?
In a building, work inside the flat and work in shared areas should be discussed separately. Stairs, landings, the entrance hall, the area in front of the lift and any parking entrance: who is requesting them, and how often? If the building management has taken a decision, writing the scope down helps everyone — which floors, whether floors or windows are included, whether the bin area counts. Agreeing a walking route while floors are wet belongs to the same conversation. If the request for shared areas comes from a single flat, settle beforehand who authorises and who pays for it.
Access limits for glass
With windows, what matters is not how dirty the glass is but how it is reached. A casement that swings fully inward is a different job from a fixed pane that never opens. Surfaces that would require leaning over a balcony rail, facade scaffolding, or standing where there is no stable footing stay outside the scope. Frames, hinges and tracks should be named separately; debris in a track can affect how the sash moves.
Be careful about marks on glass. Whether something is a scratch, a mineral deposit or a factory coating cannot be settled by looking or by hand tests; that distinction needs expert assessment. Can cabinet interiors be cleaned while still full?
Full shelves cannot be wiped properly. Either you empty them in advance, or emptying and putting things back is named as a separate item when the scope is agreed.
Are fixed panes facing the facade included?
Surfaces that cannot be reached from stable ground, or that would require leaning out or working at height, stay outside the scope. Saying in advance which windows open inward keeps the agreed scope realistic.
