Picture a desk with an open file on it, a computer tower beside it, a tangle of cables underneath and a folder left open on the windowsill. In that room, cleaning splits into two jobs at once: surfaces that will be touched and surfaces that will not. "Clean the windows" does not define scope on its own. The inner face, the outer face, the gap between sashes, the track channels, the gaskets and the frame surfaces each require different access and different time. Whether the outer face can be reached depends on the sash opening inwards and on there being a balcony or safe footing; without safe access, that face stays outside the scope, and no high-level work is promised.
If a pane shows scratching, haze, staining or something that looks like a coating, identifying which face it is on and what caused it requires an on-site expert assessment; it is not settled by running a fingernail across the surface. Is the renovation finished, or still running?
Fine cleaning only makes sense once construction work is complete. If silicone, paint touch-ups, plaster repairs, floor grouting or electrical work continue, cleaned surfaces get dirty again. In that case, planning coarse debris removal and fine cleaning as separate stages is more realistic. Why dust comes back afterwards
Fine dust left in ventilation gaps, above suspended ceilings, inside channels and behind skirting settles again with air movement or a door opening. Unfinished sanding work, facades with windows left open and boxes shifted during a move act the same way. A second look a few hours later is often more informative than a single walkthrough at handover.
