Washing a balcony and then watching muddy water get tracked across a freshly cleaned living room floor is a sequencing mistake, not bad luck. When planning cleaning for a flat in the Alacami neighbourhood of Serik, the first question is practical: which task uses water, which task raises dust, and do the two share the same surface? Answering this in advance keeps you from paying for the same area twice.
Separating wet work, dusty work and dry work
A balcony is usually worked with plenty of water, and skirting boards, the door threshold and the inner face of the balcony door are where that water travels. Interior glass also uses water, but the drip zone is narrow and dust collects under the frame. The floor is affected by both. In most cases a sensible order is: high-surface dust and cobwebs first, then interior glass and frames, then the balcony, and the floor last. This is not universal. If the balcony holds rubble, spilled potting soil or bird droppings, the rough balcony clean moves to the very beginning and its detailed finish waits until after the glass.
Glass brings a second distinction that matters more. Is the mark on the surface, or is the surface itself damaged? A spot that stays after wiping may be mineral residue, but it may equally be a scratch or a factory coating. These look alike and need an on-site expert assessment; probing with a fingernail is unreliable and can damage the pane. Where glass is coated, heat-treated or filmed and the manufacturer care instructions are unknown, abrasive methods are not attempted. Scope details are on the glass cleaning page.
Building management defines the common area limit
If you live in an apartment block or gated site, who covers the landing, stairs, lift lobby and entrance door? Booking an in-flat clean and expecting the landing to be included creates surprises for both sides. Settle three points before the work: how far beyond your door your request extends, whether management permits water and electricity use in common areas, and how neighbour traffic will be managed on wet stairs. If common areas are to be handled separately, the apartment and site cleaning scope is assessed on its own.
Talking honestly about old sofa stains
With aged stains on fabric upholstery, expectations should be set at the start. Washing refreshes general appearance and odour, but stains that are old, heat-set or previously treated with the wrong chemical cannot be guaranteed to disappear. No method is chosen before the fabric label is read; if the label is missing or worn away, a careful assessment is made in a hidden area. Afterwards the room needs ventilation and the sofa should not be in heavy use that day. See sofa washing for method distinctions.
Services offered, in brief
Home cleaning, office and workplace cleaning, post-construction cleaning, empty flat cleaning, apartment and site cleaning, villa cleaning, sofa washing and glass cleaning. Pool maintenance is not part of villa cleaning, and document handling or electronics repair is not part of office work.
Checks before and after the job
- Confirm water and electricity are available.
- Clear planters, laundry and loose items from the balcony beforehand.
- Have any manufacturer care information for glass and upholstery ready.
- Speak to building management first if you want common areas included.
- At the end, review window frame undersides, the balcony drain and the door threshold together.
- Leave the washed sofa uncovered until it has fully dried.
Can the balcony and interior glass be done on the same day?
Yes; the order is what matters. Water-carrying areas are finished before the floor, and the floor is left for last.
Is landing cleaning included with a flat clean?
Not automatically. Common area work is discussed separately and needs building management approval.
