Separate key responsibility from permission to clean

Instead of requesting “cabinet cleaning,” distinguish exterior doors, handles, internal shelves, and drawer interiors. For example, you can request exterior surfaces while excluding internal shelves. If interiors are included, establish who will remove food, dishes, and personal items, and who will put them back. An unlocked cabinet is not necessarily ready for interior cleaning.
If post-construction cleaning is needed, distinguish bulky debris removal from fine cleaning of cabinets and other surfaces. Agree who will remove the debris; fine dust is addressed in stages. Sequence shared-area work around people using the space
An entrance, staircase, or landing used to reach the apartment is separate from its interior. If apartment-building or residential-complex cleaning is requested, define those shared areas explicitly. Where foot traffic is heavy, discuss work order and arrangements for passing wet floors with the building representative. Confirm whether the person handing over the apartment key has authority over shared areas.
Office and workplace cleaning likewise requires coordination around workspaces, shared facilities, and toilets, with clear limits on handling electronics and documents. For villa cleaning, sequence work according to floors, rooms, stairs, windows, and occupancy; pool maintenance is not included.
Check preparation and handover
- Before work: Confirm key responsibility, access restrictions, water, and electricity. Record cabinet interior and exterior requests separately.
- Upholstery: For sofa cleaning, discuss the fabric label, suitable method, and ventilation. Stain removal is not guaranteed.
- Windows: Identify accessible panes, frames, and surface conditions for window cleaning. Do not assume hazardous exterior or high-level work is available.
- After work: Inspect agreed areas, checking cabinet interiors separately from exteriors. Clarify exclusions and confirm who holds the key.

If you propose this arrangement, identify that person beforehand and agree on entry authorization, the final inspection, and key return.
Can only the outsides of full cabinets be cleaned?
You can define your request that way. State that shelves and drawer interiors are excluded, and agree who will move anything obstructing exterior surfaces.
