Whether you are opening a new shop, changing your window display or your sales floor is looking tired after a busy season, the first thing a customer notices on walking through the door is the state of the floor, the glass and the display surfaces. Our Antalya shop and retail cleaning service focuses on exactly these areas: cleaning customer-facing retail spaces such as shops, boutiques and showrooms without touching the stock and without disrupting day-to-day trading.
What sets this service apart from office and workplace cleaning, which is geared towards desk-based workspaces, is that the bulk of the work is on surfaces customers come into direct contact with: shop windows, shelves, fitting rooms and the area around the till. Below you will find what is included, what is agreed separately and what needs to be prepared on the shop's side before the appointment.
When is Antalya shop and retail cleaning arranged?
The need for cleaning in retail spaces usually arises at three different points, and the preparation for each is different.
Pre-opening cleaning
Once refurbishment and decoration are finished and the shelving and furniture are in place, fine dust, plaster and fitting residue are left behind. Pre-opening cleaning for business premises aims to remove this residue before the stock is laid out, because once products are on the shelves, cleaning inside and behind the shelving becomes far more difficult. If there is heavy refurbishment residue in the space, an after-builders clean is scheduled first, followed by the shop clean that focuses on the display surfaces. Which stage you are at is confirmed during the site visit.
Seasonal and window display changes
When the window display is emptied, the glass, the window floor and the area around the mannequins become easy to reach. A change of season is also a convenient time to deal with the fitting rooms, mirrors and the insides of shelves at the same time. Shop window cleaning is most effective during this period, because both the inside of the glass and the display area are worked on while empty.
Regular cleaning
For the spots that the quick daily clean by shop staff cannot keep on top of, a detailed clean is scheduled at set intervals. The frequency is agreed in discussion based on the size of the shop, customer footfall and the type of flooring.
What is included, what is agreed separately and what is out of scope?
The list below shows the tasks the team takes on during a standard retail cleaning appointment. If your shop's layout differs from this list, the scope is adapted in discussion.
Included tasks:
- Sweeping the floors and mopping them with a method suited to the floor type
- Inside and outside surfaces of shop windows and door glass that can be safely reached from floor level
- Dusting shelves and display surfaces (emptied or accessible sections)
- The area around the till and reception counter
- Fitting rooms, fitting room mirrors and fitting room floors
- Entrance area and doormat zone
- Staff area, WC and small stockroom, if any
Tasks agreed separately:
- The cleaning limits for shelves holding delicate product groups such as textiles, electronics and glassware
- Cleaning of signage and fascia advertising that requires access equipment
- How much refurbishment residue remains before opening and which stage is to be carried out first
Out of scope:
- Stocktaking, arranging shelves and moving products
- Glass on tall shop fronts that requires special external access; such glass is assessed separately under external façade window cleaning
- Pest control
- Repairs, paint touch-ups and fitting work
The distinction on glass is kept clear: glass that can be safely reached from floor level or from inside is part of this service, and the method follows the same principles described on the window cleaning page. Glass at a height that requires a ladder or platform is discussed separately at the site visit; no work is undertaken on any surface where safe access cannot be established.
Our approach to stock and price tags
The most common question about shop cleaning is what happens to the products on the shelves. The rule is simple: the team does not touch products or price tags. Removing products from the shelves and putting them back after cleaning is done by shop staff; the team cleans surfaces that have been emptied or that can be reached between products. This approach is necessary both for the safety of the stock and to preserve the display layout.
For delicate product groups, the limits are discussed before work starts. For example, whether a damp method can be used next to uncovered textiles, whether display tables holding electronics should be dry-dusted only, or whether glassware shelves should be left untouched entirely with only the floor and surrounding surfaces cleaned, is all settled at the site visit. Once these limits are set, the team does not go beyond the framework the shop has defined.
What determines the method for floors, glass and display surfaces?
Cleaning a boutique and cleaning a large showroom are not done with the same equipment; the choice of equipment and products depends on the characteristics of the space. The floor is the most decisive factor: ceramic, laminate, epoxy, natural stone and carpeted floors each call for a different level of moisture and a different cleaning product. On glossy floors a streak-free method is used, while on porous stone floors a suitable product that will not damage the surface is chosen. The floor type is seen at the site visit and the method is decided accordingly.
Glass surfaces are cleaned with streak-free products and the appropriate tools; the size and position of the shop window determine which tools are used. On shelves and display surfaces, the material matters: lacquered, glass, metal and wooden shelves are not wiped with the same product. On mirrors and fitting room surfaces, leaving no streaks is also the priority. On every surface the aim is to clean with a method suited to the material, never mixing different cleaning chemicals and always following the instructions for use on the product label.
Timing and shopping centre rules
Cleaning is scheduled at times that will not disrupt the shop's customer traffic; the suitable time is agreed with the business. Before opening, daytime hours can be used freely since there are no customers yet; in trading shops, slots before opening or after closing are usually preferred. Which times are possible is settled jointly according to the team's schedule and the shop's operating pattern.
For shops inside a shopping centre, the centre management's rules on access, working hours and moving equipment apply. The business obtains these permissions; the team enters in line with the rules set. When fixing the appointment date, the centre management's approval time also needs to be factored in.
What the shop needs to do before the appointment
The following preparations allow the team to start work straight away and prevent any disagreement over the scope:
- Emptying the shelves and the window display that are to be cleaned, or stating which shelves will remain stocked
- Removing cash, paperwork and personal belongings from around the till
- Pointing out to the team any areas with delicate product groups
- If in a shopping centre, having obtained the management's permissions
- Water and electricity being available
- For pre-opening cleaning, the refurbishment team having finished their work
In what order does the work proceed on the day?
- Brief walk-round: The team goes over the scope agreed at the site visit with the shop's representative on site; shelves not to be touched and delicate areas are confirmed.
- Dusting from top to bottom: Dust on the tops of shelves, display surfaces, around the lighting and the upper parts of fitting rooms is removed before it settles on the floor.
- Glass and mirrors: Shop windows, door glass and fitting room mirrors are cleaned using a streak-free method.
- Fitting rooms and till area: Fitting rooms, seating, hooks and handles, and the till counter are wiped down.
- Staff area, WC and stockroom: The sections customers do not see but which are heavily used are dealt with.
- Floor: Sweeping and mopping suited to the floor type are done last; the entrance mat and threshold are finished off.
- Handover: The space is walked through with the representative and any spot that has been missed is dealt with on the spot.
What determines the quote
There is no fixed tariff for shop cleaning; the quote is prepared based on the following factors observed at the site visit: the size of the sales floor, the floor type and the method it requires, the amount of glass and window display, the density of the displays and the proportion of shelves that will remain stocked, the cleaning frequency (one-off or regular) and whether there is any refurbishment residue before opening. Since the scope of regular plans can be kept narrower than a one-off deep clean, the two options are assessed separately in discussion.
The company is based in Kepez; for shops in Antalya's other districts, the date, travel and scope are planned in discussion. For outlying districts, the appointment schedule is agreed jointly.
You can get a free quote by sharing the district your shop is in, the approximate size of the sales floor, the floor type and whether the clean is pre-opening or regular. For any questions, you can call 0537 445 01 91 or message the same number on WhatsApp.
