What should you do when the exterior windows of your apartment block, office tower or shop cannot be cleaned from inside and cannot be reached from the ground either? At this point the job goes beyond ordinary window cleaning; it calls for a specific access method chosen according to the height of the glass and the structure of the façade. Our Antalya exterior window cleaning service exists precisely for this need: we clean building exterior windows that cannot be reached from inside, using the safe access method determined at the site survey.
If you want the windows of your home or business that can be safely reached from the ground or from inside cleaned, the page for you is our window cleaning service. The work described on this page covers building façades that cannot be dealt with using a ladder or a household extension pole and that require a specialist access method.
Which buildings and glass surfaces does this service cover?
Exterior window cleaning covers all exterior glass surfaces without interior access, regardless of how the building is used. The main areas are:
- Exterior windows of apartment blocks and residential complexes, glass balustrades and the outer faces of balcony glazing systems
- Curtain-wall glazing of business centres and office towers
- Hotel, shop and showroom display windows
- High exterior windows of villas that cannot be reached with a ladder
This service usually comes up for a specific reason. If a layer of muddy grime has been left on the façade after rain, if the look of your shopfront and façade matters ahead of the season, if the building's exterior windows have not been cleaned for a long time, or if the façade glass of a newly completed build has mortar and dust residue on it, exterior cleaning needs to be planned. In buildings close to the sea, the salt film that builds up on glass can also make exterior window cleaning necessary more often than usual.
What is included, what is assessed separately and what is out of scope
We clarify the scope together during the quotation discussion, so there is no gap between expectation and result at the end of the job. The general framework is as follows:
Standard scope
- Cleaning of the outer face of glass surfaces
- Frames and joinery that can be reached safely
- Window sills and surfaces below the glass
Assessed separately at the site survey
- Limescale and hard-water stains
- Silicone, paint and mortar residue
- Film-coated or specially coated glass; on this glass the manufacturer's care instructions are followed
- Heavy build-up of bird droppings
- Salt film built up on the glass
- Washing of composite panels or stone cladding; this is not automatically included in window cleaning and can be requested separately
Out of scope
- Glass replacement and repair
- Renewal of silicone and gaskets
- Façade painting and insulation work
In newly handed-over buildings, construction residue on façade glass can be dealt with on the same schedule as the dust and debris clean inside the building; in that case we plan the job together with our post-construction cleaning service.
How is the access method decided for exterior window cleaning in Antalya?
The most critical decision in this service is the access method, and it is made at the site survey, not over the phone. The same method cannot be used on every building; which method is used depends on the building's height, the façade structure, ground and parking conditions, anchor points on the roof and the permissions of the building management.
On lower floors, a telescopic water-fed pole system operated from the ground may be preferred; this method needs enough working space in front of the façade. Where the ground is level and vehicle access is suitable, a boom lift (cherry picker) can be used; the area where the platform will stand must be cleared and the ground must be able to bear the load. If the building has a façade access cradle, this makes the job easier. On tall façades where none of these options is suitable, rope access is considered; this requires safe anchor points on the roof.
Work at height is never carried out without the necessary safety measures in place. The area beneath the work zone is cordoned off from pedestrians; in windy or wet weather the job is postponed. Where the site survey shows that safe access cannot be established, we do not take on the job and we tell you so clearly. This approach protects our staff, the building's residents and your façade alike.
The choice of cleaning product also depends on the surface. Because an abrasive or unsuitable product can leave a permanent mark on coated glass, we never go outside the manufacturer's instructions on such glass. With stubborn deposits such as limescale or mortar residue, the result depends on how long the residue has been on the glass and the suitability of the surface; that is why these items are discussed in person at the site survey.
What should building management and property owners prepare before the appointment?
Exterior façade work affects the shared routine of the whole building, not just a single flat. For the job to go ahead safely on the planned day, the following preparations matter:
- Written or verbal permission from the building or complex management, along with any rules on working hours
- If a boom lift is needed, moving vehicles away from the front of the façade and arranging the parking layout
- Identifying a water and electricity point the team can use
- Protecting or bringing in items, laundry and plant pots on balconies
- Notifying residents in advance to keep their windows closed during the work
- If a façade access cradle will be used, confirming that the system is in working order
For complex managements, these preparations can be handled together with the communal-area cleaning plan; the details are explained on our apartment block and residential complex cleaning page.
Working steps from site survey to handover
- Initial conversation: We gather information on the type of building, the approximate glazed façade area, the number of floors and the type of soiling, and find out your district and preferred dates.
- Site survey: We inspect the façade structure, ground and parking conditions, roof anchor points and access options in person. The access method and required equipment are discussed at this stage.
- Detailed quotation: The surfaces included, the items assessed separately, the method and the planned date are settled at the quotation stage.
- Building preparation: Management permission, the notice to residents, the parking layout and the water and electricity point are arranged by you; if the weather is unsuitable, the date is postponed together.
- Working day: The area beneath the work zone is cordoned off, safety measures are set up and the façade is generally cleaned section by section from top to bottom; frames and sills are dealt with in the same pass.
- Inspection and handover: The façade is checked together from the ground and, where possible, from inside; if any section could not be reached or was unsuitable, the reason is clearly explained.
What determines the quotation, and periodic scheduling
It is not possible to give a fixed price for exterior window cleaning; every building requires different access and preparation. The main factors that determine the quotation are:
- The size of the glazed façade area to be cleaned
- The building's height and the way the façade is divided
- The access method to be used and whether a platform is needed
- The type of soiling; ordinary dust and mortar, limescale or salt build-up call for different work
- Working-hour restrictions; out-of-hours work or work squeezed into particular days affects scheduling
The service can be carried out as a one-off, or scheduled periodically for complex managements, office towers and shops. The frequency is agreed in discussion, based on how quickly the façade gets dirty and the appearance the business expects. With periodic scheduling, the access arrangement is set up once, so subsequent visits are easier to organise.
Our base is in Kepez; in all districts of Antalya, scheduling is arranged by discussing the date, travel and scope. For more distant districts, the site survey and work schedule are discussed separately; you can see the districts we serve on our service areas page.
