If your home, basement or business premises has been flooded, the first job is not to start cleaning but to make the area safe: switch off the electricity at the fuse box, shut off the water at the mains stopcock, and do not enter the flooded area until the power is off. Once these steps are done, you can call us for flood clean-up in Antalya and we will schedule the job for the earliest available slot. Antalya CGS Temizlik serves all districts of Antalya from its Kepez base, removing standing water, clearing mud and silt, washing floors and setting up ventilation to aid drying; for outlying districts, the date and travel arrangements are agreed by phone.
This page describes post-incident cleaning, not a routine clean. Below you will find when this service is needed, what is included, what is discussed separately and what you need to prepare before the appointment.
When is flood clean-up needed?
This service covers the water, mud and silt left behind after heavy rain and flash floods, burst pipes or plumbing failures, leaks from the flat above, blocked drains and flooding in basements, car parks and storage areas. We work in homes, basement floors, car parks, storage rooms, shops and business premises, as well as the communal areas of residential complexes. For building management companies, post-incident cleaning of areas such as car parks and stairwells falls within this service; routine upkeep of communal areas is planned separately under our apartment block and residential complex cleaning service.
The type of water changes the nature of the job. Clean water from a burst pipe usually just needs removing and the floors washing. Rainwater and floodwater bring mud and silt with them, and clearing that residue makes up a significant part of the work. Foul water or a sewage overflow requires protective equipment and a different cleaning approach; the scope of such jobs is assessed separately when we speak.

Safety and documentation before cleaning begins
A flooded area carries a risk of electric shock. Before anyone enters, it is the property owner's responsibility to switch off the electricity at the fuse box and, if necessary, have it checked by an electrician or the relevant authority. The source of the water must be shut off; if a leak is ongoing, a plumber is needed first, because pumping out water while more keeps coming in achieves nothing lasting. Our team will not start work in an area where the power has not been cut off or the water ingress has not stopped.
We recommend documenting the damage with photos and video before cleaning begins. The water level, the wet belongings and the state of the floor will no longer be visible once the clean-up is done. If you have a policy, notifying your insurer is another step to take before cleaning starts; we do not offer legal or insurance advice, we simply remind you to inform them before the clean-up removes the evidence.
What determines the method and equipment?
The volume of water is the first factor. If only a thin layer remains on the floor, a wet vacuum may be enough; if water has pooled to any real depth in a basement or car park, a pump is needed. The amount of mud and silt determines how long the scraping and washing stages will take after the water has been removed.
The floor type affects how it is washed. Concrete and ceramic floors can be washed directly, whereas on parquet, laminate and natural stone the use of water and products is limited to suit the surface. The type of water dictates the protective equipment and cleaning approach; if foul water is involved, the job is assessed separately. Every surface is washed with suitable cleaning products; mixing different products is never recommended under any circumstances.
Time is also a factor. The longer water is left standing, the more damage it does to parquet, furniture, plasterboard and plaster, and the greater the risk of mould and odours. That is why it is important to complete the safety steps and call us as soon as you notice the problem; we confirm availability with you over the phone and schedule the job for the earliest available slot.
Preparing for the appointment and what we will ask on the first call
To plan properly, we ask for the following on the first call: the source of the water and whether it has stopped, the affected area and approximate water level, the floor type, the state of the electricity, whether access is via a basement or stairs, and if possible photos or video of the area. This information lets us decide whether a pump is needed, what protective equipment to bring and how to staff the job.
What you can do before the appointment is limited, and safety comes first. Once the power is off, you can move valuables and documents that have not touched the water to a safe place. We do not recommend moving heavy items on your own or spending long periods in the flooded area. Mentioning vehicle access and car park entry during the call makes it easier for the team to get their equipment to the site.
The job step by step, from water removal to ventilation
- Visual inspection of the area and confirmation that the power is off and the water ingress has stopped.
- Removal of standing water with a pump or wet vacuum, depending on the volume.
- Clearing of mud and silt from floors, corners and the base of walls.
- Sorting of wet belongings; help moving salvageable items to a place where they can dry.
- Washing and wiping down floors and the base of walls with products suited to the surface.
- Surface cleaning to reduce the build-up of odours.
- Setting up ventilation to aid drying, using windows, doors and any existing ventilation.
- A verbal handover of the work carried out and the points you need to keep an eye on.
What you need to know about drying, damp and wet belongings
Complete drying depends on the building materials, the humidity in the room and the ventilation; we cannot promise a definite drying time or that mould will not develop. Damp inside walls, water trapped under parquet and damage to damp-proofing cannot be resolved by surface cleaning; these require assessment by a tradesperson or specialist. If renovation work is needed because of the water damage, the dust and debris left once it is finished is planned as a separate job under post-renovation home and villa cleaning.
Whether a wet sofa, mattress or carpet can be saved depends on the material and the type of water. For a sofa soaked with clean water, sofa cleaning can be discussed separately; for upholstery that has been in contact with foul water, salvage is not recommended in most cases. Once the water has been removed and the initial clean-up is complete, and the home is habitable again, a general house cleaning can deal with any remaining traces.
What affects the price
There is no single fixed price for flood clean-up; each job is quoted according to the state of the area. The main factors are the size of the affected area, the volume of water to be removed, the amount of mud and silt, the type of water, how much furniture and belongings are in the area, access conditions such as basements or stairs, and whether a pump is needed. For outlying districts, travel is also part of the planning. The photos and video you share when we speak help us give a realistic quote; the exact scope and price are confirmed after the call.
