In Altınyaka, a neighbourhood of Kumluca in Antalya, the hardest part of cleaning a two or three storey house is usually not choosing a product but choosing an order. In the same house, the ground floor may be in daily use with a busy kitchen and entrance hall, while the top floor has been closed for months. These are not the same job and they do not fit into the same block of time. Separating the scope in advance makes the work clearer for everyone.
How the floor order is built
Two logics compete here. The first is working from top to bottom: dust and water marks from upper floors travel down the stairs, so the entrance level is cleaned last. The second is moving from dirty areas to clean ones, meaning kitchens and bathrooms with grease, limescale and moisture are handled separately with their own tools.
In practice a combined order works for most homes: on each floor the wet rooms are finished first, then the rooms, and finally the stairwell and entrance. If the house is occupied, saying which rooms will stay in use during the day allows the sequence to be arranged around that.
Separating tools by surface
Moving the same cloth from a kitchen counter to a bathroom and then to a wooden handrail is a common mistake. A concrete separation looks like this:
- A dedicated cloth and brush set for bathrooms and toilets, used nowhere else.
- A separate set for kitchen counters and cabinet fronts.
- Separate mop heads by floor type; laminate, ceramic and natural stone are not wetted the same way.
- A separate lint-free cloth for glass and mirrors.
If there is wood, natural stone, matt paint or coated furniture, the manufacturer's care instructions should be shared beforehand. Without them, no method can be called suitable for that surface; in that case the item is left out of scope or discussed first.
Floors and large glass in a villa
Large facade glazing is a separate line of work. Access height, frame type, whether the panes open, and whether the outer face can be reached safely cannot be settled without seeing the site. Inner faces may be cleanable while outer faces depend on access; risky facade or height work is not promised.
If glass shows lasting marks, dullness or what looks like a scratch, simple tests at home will not reliably tell whether it is a coating, a mineral deposit or surface damage; that distinction needs expert assessment. - At the end, review drying order on wet floors and which glass faces were done.
Does an unused upper floor get the same scope?
No. A closed floor usually shows surface dust and damp marks, so the scope can be narrowed or planned as a separate visit.
Can the outer side of large panes always be cleaned?
