A single bathroom wall can hold two different materials: ceramic in the shower area, a stone-look countertop at the basin, and grout that behaves differently from both. When arranging a clean for a flat in the Merkez neighbourhood of Kumluca, the most useful thing to describe first is not the task but the surface you will meet. Product choice comes after that.
Why identifying the material comes before choosing a product
Glossy ceramic, matt porcelain, glass mosaic, an acrylic bathtub, chrome fittings and grout all respond differently to what looks like the same soil. An acidic product that suits limescale on one surface can leave a mark on the countertop beside it. Sharing a few things in advance makes the job easier: do you know what the countertop and shower tray are made of, which products have been used on the fittings and shower enclosure before, and do you have a maintenance instruction or installation document from the manufacturer?
Whiteness on a surface is sometimes limescale, sometimes the coating dulling on its own, sometimes a mark left by an old chemical. That distinction cannot be settled without looking at it in place, and a line on shower glass likewise needs expert assessment. Where a surface is coated or unusual and the manufacturer's guidance is unknown, the sensible route is to discuss testing a small hidden area and to avoid aggressive methods.
Separating cabinet interiors from outer surfaces in the kitchen
Kitchen cleaning is not one item. The outer surfaces are doors, handles and side panels, where grease film and fingerprints dominate and the door material (lacquer, membrane, laminate, wood) decides the method. The interiors require emptying: shelves, drawer bases, spice and pan residue, sometimes old shelf liner. Interior work cannot happen with full cabinets, so who empties them should be agreed before the appointment.
A practical split: in an occupied home, outer surfaces and worktops are often enough, while before or after a move the interiors come into scope. Built-in appliance cavities, extractor filters and the inside of a fridge fall outside scope unless named separately. This is the clearest boundary between home cleaning and empty flat cleaning.
Keys and access in an empty flat
In an unoccupied flat, the obstacle is usually access rather than dirt. Points to settle: who hands over the key, where and to whom; whether a caretaker, agent or neighbour is part of the arrangement; and where the key goes when the work ends. Equally, water and electricity being on, with hot water, lighting and working sockets, directly affects whether the job can be done at all.
Ask early where waste can be taken out, whether the lift may be used, and whether building management sets time rules. If window cleaning is wanted, discuss which windows can be reached safely from inside; risky façade work and work at height are not included.
The services in brief
Home cleaning covers living areas, kitchen and bathroom. Empty flat cleaning focuses on cabinet interiors and floors before a move. Post-construction cleaning separates coarse debris from fine dust. Apartment and site cleaning addresses shared areas; villa cleaning follows a floor and stair order and excludes pool care. Upholstery washing starts with the fabric label, with no promise a stain will lift. Window cleaning is limited to reachable glass. Office cleaning does not touch electronics or documents.
Checks before and after the work
- Note the material of the countertop, tray and shower enclosure; have any care document ready.
- If interiors are wanted, empty the cabinets or agree who will.
- Confirm water, electricity and lighting are working.
- Fix the key handover and return chain with one named person.
- Review the bathroom and kitchen in daylight afterwards and mention any mark on delicate surfaces straight away.
Can I tell myself whether a mark on shower glass is limescale or a scratch?
There is no reliable home test. Limescale, a dulled coating and a scratch can look alike, and telling them apart needs assessment in place. Trying an abrasive yourself can make the mark permanent.
What if nobody can hand over the key?
Then the appointment is set for a time when someone can open the door and lock up afterwards. Scope and day cannot be fixed until access is resolved; for details you can call 0537 4450191.
